Filipina Maid is a small, woman-owned business specializing in cleaning and organizing homes in the St. Louis area for those who appreciate our unusual brand of service.
We love what we do - we take a great deal of pleasure in making the lives of our clients just a little bit easier. We are not a franchise -we actually know everyone's name that we work for, including the kids and the pets.
What's behind the company name?
The Philippines is a beautiful country of caring and loving people. Caring about your work and caring about others is one reason some of the most talented doctors, nurses, computer programmers and service providers come from the Philippines. It's this spirit of giving, sharing and helping that make up the spirit of the Philippines.
This is the spirit of the company name - a pride in giving and helping others before yourself that make up our national being - and that same caring spirit translates itself to the care we give to our clients. With pride, with happiness for life and with a willingness to do for others before ourselves. Its part of the spirit of Mabuhay and of the Philippines. We love what we do and love to share this with others. Even though our staff isn't all from the Philippines - we have adopted them (unofficially anyway) and we all feel the same - we are proud to be Filipina!
Who is Donna?
Donna Koenig is the founder and owner of Filipina Maid L.L.C. She continues to work on a cleaning crew every day - to make sure that you get only the very best service. Donna not only cleans client homes everyday - she does the estimating for new clients, checks the work of her other crews, and makes sure that you get the absolute best service of any housekeeping service in the area.
Donna is a native of the Philippine Islands. She came to St Louis from the Philippines in 2003 with a desire to share the joy and the culture of one of the most beautiful and friendly tropical countries in the world. Donna received her degree from the University of Baguio in Commerce and Business Administration, obtained several Microsoft technology and software certifications as well as extensive culinary training in Asian and European cuisine. Donna was also trained as a nursing assistant and medical care giver.
Donna was raised in a farming community in the Philippines as the youngest of eleven children. She learned at an early age the value of hard work, and has always had a passion for service. She worked full time through college in various hospitality and service jobs, and upon moving to the United States she became the concierge for a major hotel chain.
Although her home is now the United States, her cultural roots remain very important to her. Those roots are what drives her to make sure that your home is always looking it's best, and that you get service with a smile and a few jokes... and the dog and the cat both get a treat before the crew leaves.
